Marlouise Venter:

So... This was me...

About a year ago, I came to the point where I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. It was hard for me to shop when I knew I had to look for the bigger sizes at the back of the range. It became hard for me.

So one day I was walking in a shopping mall and I saw the poster of Hennie and I knew, that is what I need, a personal trainer. I called him up and made an appointment. When I stepped in the gym my hope sank into my shoes, how was I ever going to achieve what the people at this gym has??? But that didn’t stop me from starting.

That same week I started my weight loss training program. To be honest, this is the hardest thing I have ever attempted, it hit me in all three levels of my human being, mentally, emotionally and physically. I wanted to look like the cover girls but when I saw what went into creating such a body, my body started rebelling… but as time went on I knew where I wanted to be and what I had to do to get there. This is a sport that changes your entire life style, but for the best. I have never felt this good or confidant in my whole life. I got a chance at living the life I dreamed of with a flat tummy.

When I started with Hennie I weighed in at 70.9kg’s. Now I am busy training for competitions and I am standing at 52kg’s at the moment. My body has changed so much and the thing that keeps me going, is to see the changes every week and to know that I am not the only one doing this. I would like to encourage others to make the change, yes it is hard but it is for keeps. Once you set your mind on it and see the benefits, it gets easier and more fun.

I am looking forward to doing my first competition in August this year. I will be proud on stage, knowing that even if I don’t place, I have placed in the top rank of my own life.

Training Schedule

Throughout my bodybuilding career I would say a big challenge for me was to prove that conditioning rules and not size.

I train 5 to 6 days per week. I prefer to train 1 muscle group per day and I totally exhaust that group with 4 - 5 exercises.
