Sculpt Your Body At A Dedicated Bodybuilding Gym

A bodybuilding gym differs from a normal gym where people are mainly interested in fitness training.  At a bodybuilding gym, the emphasis is on bodybuilding, which requires a completely different approach to planning a workout than a normal fitness routine.  Firstly, a different mindset is taught at a bodybuilding gym and that is one of stolid determination.  Bodybuilding is hard work and slackers will not get very far.  The purpose of each workout is to totally exhaust the relevant muscle group in a maximum-effort routine that takes you to within a hairline's breadth of your limits.

The professional trainers at a good bodybuilding gym also know that it is an intellectual exercise, necessitating a very carefully worked out training programme, taking into account the gender and age of the member as well as the different types of fibres in the muscles and the appropriate intensities and periods of training that these muscle groups require.  It is imperative that you maintain a constant routine for six to eight weeks and during this time, your workouts should be of an extremely high intensity and you should train as heavily as your body allows you to.

However, constant training is also counterproductive and you should take a break from training every eight weeks and then adapt your programme by introducing different training principles.  BodyGuru Gym in Montana, Pretoria is run by Hennie Kotze, an esteemed South African bodybuilder that has been active for more than a decade.  Hennie realises the importance of an intense workout and to this end, he has not only founded perhaps the top bodybuilding gym in South Africa; he has also designed a nutritional regime that compliments the training programme, so you can get the maximum benefit from your time in the gym.

Training Schedule

Throughout my bodybuilding career I would say a big challenge for me was to prove that conditioning rules and not size.

I train 5 to 6 days per week. I prefer to train 1 muscle group per day and I totally exhaust that group with 4 - 5 exercises.
