If you are intent on achieving excellent results in bodybuilding, you cannot just sign up at the closest gym and follow arbitrary, hand-me-down muscle building workouts.  Rather, you need a plan, an infrastructure, expert advice and the very best facilities available.  Bodybuilding is not recreational training and it takes time and a great deal of hard work and dedication to sculpt the body you had envisaged in your mind's eye.

A Good training Programme

You have to approach your muscle building workouts in a carefully planned way if you are to get the maximum value from them.  Bodybuilding requires that you train certain muscle groups by lifting the heaviest weights that you can muster – the watch word is intensity – and you have to exhaust each muscle group entirely.  To achieve this within the time limits that most modern people have, you can only train certain muscle groups on a given day.

A typical Day One of muscle building workouts may start with your hamstrings and calves and you may work them to the limit in alternating working and drop sets.  This routine is so intensive that you would only focus on these two muscle groups on the first day; the next day may be reserved for abs and chest muscles only.  You would work your way through all the muscle groups in six days and on Day Seven, you should rest and recuperate.

Throughout my bodybuilding career I would say a big challenge for me was to prove that conditioning rules and not size.

I train 5 to 6 days per week. I prefer to train 1 muscle group per day and I totally exhaust that group with 4 - 5 exercises.
